by the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative. ADL is a Department of Defense
(DoD) program funded by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness
(OUSD P&R).

IMS Global Learning Consortium

The IMS Global Learning Consortium develops and promotes the adoption of open technical
specifications for interoperable learning technology.
The SCORM Documentation is largely based on Specifications produced by IMS working
groups. The specifications adapted in the Simple Sequencing and Content Packaging
books of SCORM are the IMS Simple Sequencing and IMS Content Packaging specifications
respectively. These specifications are the intellectual property of IMS. This site
does not reference the IMS Specifications directly. This site references only the
SCORM documentation. For information about IMS Specifications, please contact IMS
directly.

Aviation Industry CBT (Computer-Based Training) Committee (AICC)

The Aviation Industry CBT (Computer-Based Training) Committee (AICC) is an international
association of technology-based training professionals. The AICC develops guidelines
for aviation industry in the development, delivery, and evaluation of CBT and related
training technologies.
The runtime data model and API utilized in SCORM are based on the work of the AICC
Computer Managed Instruction (CMI) Subcommittee.

IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee (LTSC)

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE) Learning Technology Standards Committee (LTSC) is chartered
by the IEEE Computer Society Standards Activity Board to develop internationally
accredited technical standards, recommended practices, and guides for learning technology.
The works produced by the LTSC are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.
